You had to have seen the movie...
The other day I was watching TV and an advertisement came on with the teacher from Ferris Bueller came on. He was in the classroom setting calling “Bueller…Bueller…Bueller”. I instantly cracked up laughing. The commercial was taken from the movie with the same teacher. Once I saw the commercial, I had to get the movie and watch it with my wife.
Ferris Bueller was a 80’s classic. My wife is not an 80’s fan and does not see the movie as a classic, but rather a decent movie. I remember growing up and wishing I could pull something off like Ferris did and be able to skip school having a good time. Of course, my principle was not as dumb as the one on TV.
I have often wondered why Matthew Broderick ended up in the movie stinkers such as Godzilla and Inspector Gadget after making it big with a movie like that. Allan Ruck did well with “Spin City” and seems to have had a better career than Broderick. Then there was Mia Sara, who seems to fallen off the planet. I have seen her in some guest spots on CSI, but that is pretty much it. It was such a good movie, but most of the actors seemed to have taken a downward plunge in their acting career after this movie.
Some have said that many of the 80’s movie stars just don’t have the staying power that they once used to. Maybe so, but I will always love watching some of the 80’s classics when many of these actors were at the top of their game.
